Performing Functions on Cell Array Data

To perform certain MATLAB functions directly on cell arrays, you need to extract the contents of the cell array as numeric data.

For example, to compute the sum of the elements in the cell array A, type

• sum([A{:}])
  

MATLAB returns

• ans =
      109.8200
