Vector Definition--Initial Vector Definition

These parameters define the line segment that occurs before the windowed transition. As a convenience, the time axis is defined to be zero at the end of the initial vector. Thus, these parameters define the position for t < 0:

• x₁ -- position at time t = 0. This is the last point in the initial vector.

• v₁ -- velocity of the initial vector. This is the slope (first derivative) of the first line segment.

• Therefore, , for t < 0.
